As I was standing in the line outside Trader Joe’s, abiding by the six foot apart Covid-19 behavior before entering the store, I was thinking about the sun. I realized that I put my standard sunblock on my nose and face, BUT they are now covered by a face mask. This is because we’ve been asked to wear face masks and gloves when we go out until we all get the all clear.
With the sun being so intense here, and as it was a bright sunny spring day all I could think was, these different masks are no doubt going to make some interesting tan lines on our face and neck. This is sort of the reverse of avoiding bathing suit lines.
Now what? Big wide brimmed hats? Different style masks on different days? Go big like a bandana? Veils? It will be interesting to see what kind of a fashion statement people will make with their masks and face coverings. And to avoid unexpected tan lines in strange places.
