It was change-the-carbon-filter-in-the-Master-Bedroom-Air-Doctor day this morning. Wow. Gross! After figuring out I had two carbon filters and one Hepa filter I pulled open the front of the air filter to find the completely compacted carbon filter. Dust was sticking out the back of the filter in tendrils. Double Yuck. Better there than in my lungs that’s for sure.
There are no markings on the outside of the boxes for the filters just product codes. So I tore open one box that I deemed most likely the carbon filter and found what I was seeking. Then I had to find the owner’s manual for the Air Doctor to find out how to shut off the red nagging light. I like red but not beamed on the ceiling of my bedroom. After finding out via the manual I had never read that it was hold the “Auto” and “Dim” button for 3 seconds and watch the red nagging light shut itself off, NOT the power and the dim together, it blinked itself into silence.
While I searched my intuition to see if I needed to order another set of filters when I had two carbon filters I realized this must be a year long supply. I now know despite reading the manual in my hand, that a set of filters does last about a year. Yes, I’ve been here over eight months but I didn’t pull out the new Air Doctor until the contractors were finished rebuilding the bathroom and closet. That’s a punishment no air filter should go through. And see the photo above if you are wondering if the filter is effective.
Better there than in my lungs!
