Berry Clean

Strawberries and other berries such as blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are known as part of the “dirty dozen.” Which means they are often saturated with herbicides, pesticides and unclean growing processes. As a result, it is best to buy organic.

When you get your berries home make sure to clean them with a vegetable cleaner spray. Or use a sprayer with purified water and a tablespoon of Colloidal Silver to cut any contaminates, mold, dirt or bugs.

Another easy way to clean the berries, clearing the dirt, mold or bugs and helping them last longer in the refrigerator is to place them in colander or a salad spinner set in a large bowl. Then rinse them in a mixture of one cup purified water and one half a cup of white vinegar. Gently stir them in the vinegar water for a few minutes until they are cleared. Throw away any moldy berries. Drain and spread them out on a towel to dry completely. Then put them in an airtight container with a small piece of paper towel to keep them dry.

The berries will be cleaner, last longer and avoid growing mold in the fridge.
