Forever Chemicals

We recently read how many contact lense options contain “forever chemicals.” Goodness.

MAYBE this is a reason that the prescribers really want us to change the thirty day contacts every thirty days. Just tossing out the thought.

Toxic polyfluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkyl chemicals, collectively known as PFAS, may be lurking in your contact lenses. The compounds, which have been dubbed “forever chemicals” because they break down so slowly, have been linked to reproductive and developmental problems, cancer, obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)and more.

So we are on the watch for an alternative, including select contact brands.

Related but separate: because of these “forever chemicals” we stopped using Microwave popcorn long ago. And we never use nonstick cookware

For many reasons, including potential “forever chemicals” we never eat anything that comes through a window.

Ba dum da dum.
