For a good night’s sleep we find Dr. Eric Berg offers some very useful tips in one of his videos. We cannot link to the video, but you can find it by searching youtube.com for this title: How to Sleep Deeply and Wake Up Refreshed (Must Watch!!) – Dr. Berg on Sleep Problems. Thirteen minutes of insight!
In addition, we will add these thoughts:
- Chamomile tea before bed can help (as long as you are not allergic)
- Regular to bed and rising times
- Hydrate! And try not to drink (or eat) too much two hours before bed
- No caffeine after 3:00 p.m.
- If your mind is busy have a note pad next to the bed, write down what’s on your mind and then tell yourself all will be well in the morning
- As mentioned in the Dr. Berg video, keep the cellphone away from your head and the bed as the EMFs stimulate the brain. If you have to have it in the space shut off the alerts.
- No television in the bedroom as the blue light from the screen stimulates the brain and doesn’t let you sleep. If you have to entertain yourself, read some light fiction.
- Television and screens for a period of hours prior to bed can affect our sleep. If in front of screens you might try wearing blue light blocking glasses. An idea, anyway. We wear them with our computer work, may also try them for television at night.
- Dr. Berg suggests sleeping on the right side in the Youtube mentioned above. In addition, find the sleeping position that relaxes your shoulders, hips and neck. The four-pillow position works well: lay on your side, put a pillow between your knees, a thin pillow under your head, one pillow in front of you to rest your far arm and hand on and another pillow to block light and support your lower hand. (Note, there is a fifth pillow in the video found at the link just above, one that is behind your back so you don’t roll backwards. Ginger uses just four-pillows.)
- According to studies mouth taping can improve the sleeping oxygenation by 20%. Somnifix is the best mouth tape as it is reinforced and has a small hole for possible cough or drool.
- Allow your Angels to watch over you and yours, so you don’t stay in high alert.
- Aswhanganda can assist relaxation.
Relaxed success to you!
