Room for Improvement

As teachers commented on my school papers, there is “room for improvement!”

While we know we and others can do better, I talk to people every day who do not understand why some people do not want to grow and improve, therefore making a contribution to themselves and to others. Some seem to continue to just “get by”.

Why? They could be tired of the stress, uninspired or what some would call just plain lazy. Maybe they are tired of trying to what they see as no avail. Perhaps there isn’t any help “out there”.  And growing can be scary because, well, it can mean unknown territory instead of the familiar. But are they dropping out of life?

We are all wired for different outcomes in this world and they are not our concern.

As for our growth, if those around us do not see our potential, how do we? We do so by turning around and noticing our own improvements in life and learning and by disregarding other’s judgements. Other’s judgements have nothing to do with your true self, have no actual authority or perception of your outcome.

Let go of those who do not want to participate, strive for your own personal perfection without needing adulation or acceptance by others.

We are all on your own true path. Let go of the past as it is over and do not worry about the future as it is not here yet. Work on the present with heart, wisdom and without concern about what others are thinking or conditioning.  Their thoughts are none of your business. They will think whatever serves them.

Strive for the better with your own measurements and achievements and to your own satisfaction. Have the willingness to make “room for improvement” and never lose hope.
