Relax those Muscles

When you find your muscles are cramped, if it is us, we would try the following:

Magnesium Malate

Magnesium is key to muscle function, energy production, oxygen absorption, and electrolyte balance – thus it can assist with muscle cramps.

Magnesium malate made by combining magnesium with malic acid. Malic acid is found in various fruits and is responsible for their tart taste. The combination of magnesium and malic acid is believed to be better absorbed than other forms of magnesium.

Cramp Bark

Cramp bark is from Viburnum opulus, also known as guelder rose, highbush cranberry, and snowball tree.

It is an herbal supplement made from the shrub’s dried bark, and has traditionally been used to treat pain from muscle cramps, especially period cramps, although other parts of the plant may also offer benefits.

Medi Herb calls their cramp bark product Cramplex.

Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is a mineral salt that is a compound of magnesium and sulfate. The name is due to it supposedly having been discovered in Epsom, England, about 400 years ago.

When Epsom salt is dissolved in warm water, it allows it to be absorbed into your body through your skin. Centuries of use indicate wonderful benefits.

But apparently it is not clear whether magnesium can be absorbed through our skin in sufficient amounts to address potential deficiencies. Still, integrative medical experts commonly recommend Epsom salt to people with muscle pain.
