When I sat down at my desk recently I looked down at my paper appointment calendar and saw a bug. At first I thought it was a fly. My intuition said “don’t smack it (who wants a squished bug on their calendar anyway?), look closer!”
It was a tiny black cricket, only an inch long. Crickets are a sign of good luck and blessings. The old Chinese belief system holds that having a cricket in the house brings good fortune. The Chinese can even keep them in cages to create prosperity and good health.
I gently took him outside and thanked him for the good luck. I have no idea how he got in here. And I take it as a good sign for my clients, practice, abundance and health. I am grateful for the blessing from that tiny body.
