Rituals

Many of us derive comfort from the repetitiveness of a ritual.

Some use them to connect with family and friends and to allow for human social interactions and structures, to honor the natural markers in our lives. Many rituals have become connected with celebrations or expressions such as birthday cakes, baptism and graduation ceremonies.

Many others come from a need to connect with the divine, a route to keep on a spirit led path. Rituals can bring personal peace or knowledge. And discovery of the pathways and patterns of our lives and those of our ancestors.

These rituals might include a form of devoted actions and prayers, a walking meditation or stress relief. It might just be being present with our senses and feelings, no thinking.

The place for rituals does not matter. We can be in a celebratory facility, in nature, on our couch, in front of a mirror or at your personal alter.

In whatever manner you create rituals in your life, make them personal, powerful and may it bring you peace and understanding.
