Thieves Cleaner is an “always” item, but we particularly feel others might find useful as we navigate through this period of the Covid-19 virus (Coronavirus). Go and choose as you are led.
The Thieves product is sold by Young Living Oils (www.youngliving.com). The Thieves blend is essential oils of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, Rosemary. It’s known to be highly antiviral, antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-infectious. It was created from research based on legends about a group of 15th century thieves who rubbed botanicals on themselves to avoid contracting the plague while they robbed the bodies of the dead and dying. When apprehended, the thieves were forced to tell what their secret was and disclosed the formula of the herbs, spices and oils they used to protect themselves in exchange for more lenient punishment.
We feel the cleaning and health products are especially effective due to testing via the studies at Weber State University Ogden, UT in 1997 demonstrated the killing power of these oils.
You can purchase the cleaner or use these guidelines from Essential Oils Pocket Reference, Eighth Edition, Life Science Publishing:
| 1 all-purpose empty spray bottle 1 cup distilled white vinegar (DWV) 2 cups distilled water 10 drops each of Thieves oil* 10 drops of Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) oil |
Note that most essential oil recipes call for glass bottles because the essential oils can breakdown the plastic over time. Also, amber glass protects the integrity of the essential oils. Some glass spray bottles are silicone covered to prevent breakage. We have seen glass bottles with 22 oz fill-lines at Dollar Tree. I elected to use plastic because it was what I had on hand and was less likely to get broken if dropped.
